Dining with the family has become a thing of the past and that’s why I’m going to turn you on to Delosa’s pizzeria, a great place
to bring the kids and unwind.
Owners Robert Joseph Siler and Jim Brazeale have created a neighborhood gathering place for fiends and family. Located in the heart of South Tampa, Delosa’s is the perfect place to bring the soccer team, have a birthday party or watch your favorite sports team on the huge flat screens.
Just like the old forgotten days when families hung out, the laid back atmosphere coupled with a full liquor bar makes it an optimal place to spend quality time with the children and relax with a Bud Lite or a stiff vodka and soda.
Named the most kid-friendly restaurant in South Tampa, Delosa’s offers a menu the little ones are sure to love and video arcade where the kids can spar with Pac Man and Galaga while you keep an eye on them via a plasma video screen while you enjoy some suds.
The vibe in Delosa’s is contagious. The Hand painted murals and the smooth sounds of Frank Sinatra calm your nerves, which are otherwise being affected by the atmosphere that can be described as Sesame Street meets Mountain Dew. It’s the perfect place to wear your kids out and eat some tremendous food.
But don’t think of Delosa’s as a place just for families. I’m in Delosa’s by myself at least twice a week. And although the restaurant is known for great pizza and subs, I believe they have the best wings in town, and I consider myself a wing connoisseur. Crispy and tender, just like I like‘em. The Cajun wings with some blue cheese make me forget about all the little things that make my head spin on a daily basis. On special occasions I’ll ask Chef Mark to make me garlic wings (which aren't on the menu) and he nails them every time.
Kids love Delosa’s NY style pizzas but the menu has an impressive selection of food other than that. The subs, Greek salads, cheesesteak sandwiches, pasta, gyros and burgers are all excellent. You can even get a bucket of clams or mussels.
But when you are in the mood to be downright evil, let me steer you in the direction of the garlic knots. A half dozen is a $1.99 worth of heaven. Homemade rolls bathing in oil and garlic are a great way to start the Delosa’s experience.
The service at Delosa’s is always very friendly, with the waiters, waitresses and bartenders going the extra mile to make sure you and your children are comfortable at all times. They even seem to be specially equipped with extra patience to deal with a room full of "handfuls".
Delosa’s banners are omnipresent at ball fields all around south Tampa and the restaurant continually supports youth leagues from the RSL youth soccer league to the TBYFL Raiders (a team I help coach).
With reasonable prices, top-notch grub and a knack for always going out of their way to give back to the community, Delosa’s is truly a “must try” in Tampa.
Thank God for Delosa’s .
