WHATS HOT TAMPA BAY introduces to you in this issue two prominent Tampa artists, Shelby Boggs, creative photographer and Mishou Sanchez, painter and architect.
Shelby Boggs takes her commercial photography to new heights in her creations behind windows. Her unique work is created with an artist’s flair. As Shelby describes her work, “My pictures tell stories by presenting a unique and different perspective on people and places seen everyday and taken for granted”. Her travels have allowed her to bring the world to all who enjoy her work and remind many of places visited both locally and abroad. Her theme tells a story or reminds you of one of your own from that special place. In addition to her creative side, Shelby is also an aerial photographer and was the official photographer for the Red Baron Flying Team which keeps her spirits soaring and her ideas flowing thru the eye of the camera. She is the original creator of Tampa Artist Emporium a unique gallery, bringing together an outstanding collection of work by local fine artists in the community.
Mishou Sanchez, award winning designer in space and interior earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Ringling School of Art and Design. Her earlier more traditional work reflected her sense of drawing and painting from the masters. Mishou now reflects her design and architectural senses in her current collection. She embraces, in her own words, both my art and architecture, a belief in the honesty in materials, construction, where the human imprint is always read and essential in its presentation. I am a purist who finds the evidence of humanity in the elevated expression of humans to be the most beautiful. Mishou’s work defines a vibrant spirit coordinating design and color in contrast.
Works of both Boggs and Sanchez can be enjoyed at the Tampa Artist Emporium along with more than 70 local artists who come
together to present their work in all medium. TAE is hosting several holiday venues offering the unique shopping experience. This season make your gifting special by giving something created to be a part of a lifetime. Please join us on the first Friday of each month in the gallery to celebrate new and emerging artists.
