Rising Star, Jenna Shiver - Billy Castro
BC: What excites you most about boxing?
JS: I thrive on adrenaline. Boxing is up close and personal. When I was a little girl, I wanted to fight like Bruce Lee and I still do. I love the art and sweet science of boxing.
BC: How would you advise an upcoming female athlete?
JS: Don’t let any trainer train you like a “girl”, make sure they train you like an athlete, with a warrior mentality. Believe in your talents and defy gravity with the dreams in your heart. Here’s a quote by David R. Hawkins MD, Ph. D., “…the hallmark of true greatness in athletic achievement is always humility.”
BC: What is your ultimate dream life?
JS: This is a three part answer. In boxing my dream is to win at least two world title championship belts. Second, I’ve always dreamt in performing in a theatre play, Fuerza Bruta, in NY or Miami. Third, I want to be a professional stuntwoman. Oh yeah, I also would love to be a competitive snowboarder. LOL, if you are not dreaming than you are not living to reach your full potential and reaching for your ultimate REALity.
The acronym, AS*I*BE, is A Star Is Becoming Empowered.
BC: How do you feel you are empowering yourself and the people you come in contact with?
JS: Everyday I run, I train, I fight, and I increase the control I have over my senses. It’s motivating to know that there is always room for growth. I’m just beginning to tap into the physical, mental, and spiritual capabilities of our truly blessed and magnificent bodies. We are all examples, whether we like it or not. I live with tenacity, commitment and dedication. You and I can achieve anything we put our mind to, it doesn’t matter how far our dreams may seem. The power is in us to make the decision to become who and what we aspire to be.
BC: I couldn’t have said better myself, Good Luck and God Bless
