One year ago I entered the Real Dill Deli by mistake . I was late for my radio show , and needed to pick up a quick bite on the way to work . I ordered the first thing on the menu , which was the” 3 egg Morning” . It’s a very simple breakfast which consists of 3 eggs ,choice of meat(I chose bacon) , toast and seasoned home fries.

When I dug in at work ,it was quite evident that who ever cooked this breakfast loved food.The eggs and bacon were perfect and the home fries cooked crisply and seasoned with love.I’ve frequented the Real Dill ever since. Head chef and owner Eric Cornwell,definitely has a hidden star on Westshore Blvd.The Real Dill is a tiny Deli that seats only about 15 people but the food can go toe to toe with any other Deli in the Bay area.

The concept of the Real Dill is to bring it’s customers a unique version of familiar favorites prepared fresh to order and made from scratch.When I say scratch I mean scratch.Eric prepares his own deli meats such as turkey,roast beef,corned beef,brisket,roast pork and chicken salad.But he doesn’t stop there, his sides,soups,salads,potato chips,fresh cut fries and all of his desserts are from scratch.You can definitely taste the difference at the Real Dill and Eric treats everyone like they are in his home.

Some of the most popular lunch items are the turkey avocado flatbread with oven roasted turkey,swiss cheese,fresh avocado,lettuce,tomato and there homemade roasted garlic mayo.The Monte Crispo is a grilled turkey,ham,swiss and raspberry sauce on panko encrusted egg battered bread,deep fried and topped with powdered sugar,its ridiculous.

A daily quiche,a nice Cuban,juicy burgers and the best pickles in town.You really can’t go wrong with the food at the Real Dill.Eric only serves breakfast and lunch for now.But I have a funny feeling the real Dill has plans for expansion.I highly recommend the Real Dill due to Eric’s innovative recipes,warm hospitality and culinary TLC.
